July 12 2014 Annual Meeting

We all had a good time at our annual meeting.  Pres. Muffy Pare kept the meeting moving with charm and humor.  Everyone reported on their respective committees.  Dr. Spiess spoke on “Background to the Fish Weir: Native American Prehistory of Sebasticook Lake and the Kennebec Valley”.  He spoke well and we all were attentive and learned about prehistory in our area.

Lots of talk about the high water we’ve been experiencing and why the dam gate control doesn’t seem to be keeping up.  A committee will get together and discuss potential solutions and meet with the town to express our concerns about the erosion that the unstable lake level control is causing.

Pictures are posted on the home page.  As I was intent on enjoying the great food at our BBQ I forgot to take any pictures.  Rest assured the food and conversations were worth the wait.

Next year July 4th is on a Saturday so we will meet on July 11 and return to having our fireworks that evening.  Hope everyone who attended was satisfied with the meeting and BBQ. The rest of you should plan to attend next year.
