Happy Mother’s Day, and I hope all of the moms enjoyed the sunny, windy weekend.
The new watershed study plan’s 2 day road/runoff/erosion walkabout took place on April 28th and 29th with an enthusiastic team of hardy volunteers who traipsed around in culverts, ditches and waterfront beaches assessing the effects of snow, rain and Mother Nature’s winter impact on the lake.
Many thanks to the property owners who graciously allowed us to take a look at what, if anything, is needed for the roadways and roadside drainage ditches/culverts to help divert storm water runoff and with it, winter contaminants.
The Alewives are in the fish ladder! They arrived 2 weeks ago and with the amount of rain we have had, the fish ladder is teeming with both water and fish!
The lake association newsletter is in the process of being completed – mailing date is the first week in June – or thereabouts. If there is room, Rick Perlmutter at perlmutters@msn.com is the person to sent any article you would like to see in print.
The Fireworks Fund is in need of a benefactor to help defray the cost of the annual Fireworks Display.
ALL of us can be benefactors – think about this for a minute- with several hundred property owner’s on Lake Sebasticook, if each of us made a donation of as little as $10.00, it would cover nearly half the cost of the Fireworks Show.
If everyone donated $20.00, you would stop receiving a request for donations from me for the remainder of the summer!!!!
The Black Flies are out, so put your Woodman’s Fly Dope on, and remember to spray your shoes/boots/socks to keep the ticks off, too.
More info on the way.
