Greetings from Snowy/Sunny/Sleety/Slush/Muddy Newport!!
Once again, Mother Nature has sent us a Schizophrenic weather pattern;
a high of degrees in the 20s last week with single digits overnight.
This week the temps are forecast to gradually get to 53 degrees on Friday!! What the heck?!?!?!?
For all of you who are suffering through balmy 78 degree days in the
sunny south, try not to be too envious of all of us here in Maine.
If you are interested in learning of the goings-on here in Newport, all
of the biweekly Selectman Meetings are remote, and a ZOOM invitation can
be requested by contacting the town office at 368.4410 or
jimricker@newportme.org.
For your reading/computer/DVD/audiobook entertainment, may I recommend
that you check out (pun intended) the Simpson Library in Carmel, Maine.
The experienced, friendly staff members are knowledgeable and will
surely be a familiar face. There is no fee for a library card, the
inter-library loan program is accessible, and the library has a bottle
return bin for your recyclables. The telephone number to the Simpson Library is 848.7145
Tomorrow is March 1, 2021, and the First Day of Spring is 20 days away!!!
Stay the course with the face masks, socially distance yourself from
people outside of your ‘bubble’, avoid inside gatherings and wash your
hands. The Johnson and Johnson 1-dose Coronavirus vaccine received
Emergency Use Authorization last week and will be available soon, which will help
accelerate the vaccine process.
Be well.
