  1. Docks or piers must be temporary and in the water less than 7 months a year. I don’t believe there are any mooring rules in place in Newport yet. See the Newport Town website and download the Shoreland Zoning manual. The definition on page 44 is easiest for this but there is also information on page 16. Permanent piers are difficult to impossible to gain approval for use.
