There has been action on the dredging complaint. At the October 5 Council meeting it was reported that Mr. Ricker and Al Tempesta will meet at the illegal dredging sites with 4 DEP reps and the Attorney General to discuss the next steps to restoring the area. The two responsible parties have been unresponsive to Town and DEP. Attorney General has stated that these parties can be sued for expenses such as fines and restoration to the lake and surrounding area. Mr. Ricker will have updates on how to finalize this situation at the next board meeting which is October 19th. While I don’t see it on the agenda I hope we will have information then. Council board meetings and agendas are on the town website and are being posted quickly. https://newportme.org/2022selectboard
